Ivanhoe Water System Project has begun on November 7, 2024! Each qualified resident will have 60 days to complete and submit the application to the Public Works Department. The deadline to apply is January 7, 2025.
Welcome to the Sampson County property addressing page.
To request a new 911 address, complete an Address Request Form(PDF, 413KB). Submit the form to 911addressing@sampsonnc.com with copies of the completed Septic and Zoning Permits.
Addresses can only be assigned to structures such as a residence, business, etc. If you have any questions about the addressing process, please call 910-631-1045.
Not presently, a moratorium is currently in place, which prevents road name changes at this time.
The instructions for properly displaying your street number are available in this diagram(PDF, 182KB). You may download it and print it for reference. Engineered plans are drawn to scale.
You may obtain an address by calling the 911 Addressing Office at (910) 631-1045 or come by the Emergency Management Services Office at 530 Commerce Street in Clinton.
In naming roads, the Road Naming Committee reviews all road name choices with alternate names submitted by the property owners and uses the following criteria in their recommendation:
The Road Naming Committee forwards road name recommendations to the Board of Commissioners and requests a public hearing. A public hearing notice is published 10 days prior to the hearing date in the local newspaper. The Board of Commissioners hold the public hearing and approve road names accordingly.
If you do not know your 911 address and would like to find the information, call (910) 631-1045 or go in person to the 911 Addressing Office.
A street name is assigned to a private road that provides access to three or more residences, businesses, industries or a combination thereof, regardless of the length of the road.
The County of Sampson is responsible for the installation of all road signs relating to 911 services. For questions regarding installation of road signs for 911 service, call Sampson County Public Works at (910) 592-0188.
The property owners on the road are asked to submit a ballot card, typically left on each door, with at least three road name choices. The information on each property owner is obtained from the Tax Office. Ballot cards are then forwarded to the property owners.
