The Sampson County Board of County Commissioners has been recognized by Clinton City Schools and Sampson County Schools after being nominated for the North Carolina School Boards Association (NCSBA) Commissioners of the Year award.

The nomination reflects the Board’s ongoing partnership with both school systems and its shared commitment to strengthening educational outcomes for students across Sampson County. School leaders applauded the Commissioners for their collaborative approach and continued support of public education.

Earlier this year, the Board of County Commissioners worked alongside Clinton City Schools and Sampson County Schools to adopt the first-ever school funding formula resolution for Sampson County. The resolution establishes a clear, consistent framework for local education funding and represents a significant step forward in long-term planning and financial stability for both school districts.

The funding formula resolution underscores the County’s commitment to public education by promoting accountability, predictability, and a shared understanding of how local resources are allocated. County officials and school leaders noted that the framework helps strengthen communication, supports budget planning, and reinforces a unified vision focused on student success.
