Notification of Upcoming Circuit Line Distribution Clearance Work

Sampson County has been notified by Duke Energy that vegetation trimming will take place along a major electric distribution circuit serving the southside of Clinton and the area south along Taylors Bridge HWY into the town of Taylors Bridge. This work helps reduce outage risk, improve reliability, and support safe operation of the power system.

Circuit length: 99.3 miles
Customers served: Approximately 1,875
Last vegetation trimming cycle: 2019
Contractor performing work: Lewis Tree

Scheduled work window: January 5, 2026 – April 28, 2026

What residents may notice?
Line-clearing crews and marked vehicles working along rights-of-way and near roadways.
Temporary traffic impacts where crews must work close to the shoulder.
Trimming knowing the work is focused on vegetation that could interfere with power lines.
