Roseboro Animal Waste Spill Incident

On January 27, 2026, at 12:50 p.m., the Sampson County 911 Center received a report of an animal waste spill at the intersection of N. East Street and E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Roseboro. The Roseboro Fire Department and Sampson County Emergency Services responded to the incident and found a small spill of animal by-product in the roadway.

Sampson County Emergency Services investigated the incident and determined the truck responsible for the spill was owned by Mr. Nickey Hall of Rowland, NC. The truck was operated under the name GTN Logistics. Sampson County Emergency Services staff located the truck at the Sampson County Landfill and found Mr. Hall to be the operator of the truck. Mr. Hall was cited by the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office for Failure to Secure Load.

During the investigation, it was determined that the animal by-product spilled out of the rear of the trailer and that Mr. Hall was likely not aware of the spill at the time it occurred.

Clean-up of the spill was coordinated by Sampson County Emergency Services and other partners involved.
