Public Transportation Launches New Fare-Free Services to Expand Access

Sampson County, N.C.  —  Sampson County Public Transportation is expanding transportation options for residents and students with the launch of two new fare-free services designed to improve access to education, healthcare, employment, government services, and other essential destinations.

The new services, the SCC Campus Connector and the Sampson Connector, reflect the county's ongoing commitment to connecting communities and removing transportation barriers for residents.

 

SCC Campus Connector

The SCC Campus Connector provides free transportation for eligible students traveling to and from Sampson Community College. The service is designed to help students reach educational and workforce development opportunities without the burden of transportation costs.

Students may use the service to access:

  • Classes and academic programs
  • Workforce training and certifications
  • Continuing education
  • Adult Basic Education (GED)
  • Student support services

The service operates Monday through Friday; with morning drop-offs and afternoon return trips.

Sampson Connector

The Sampson Connector is a new fare-free transportation route from Sampson County to Fayetteville, providing residents with reliable transportation to essential services and destinations.

Potential destinations include:

  • Medical appointments
  • Shopping centers and retail stores
  • Fayetteville Regional Airport
  • Government offices
  • Educational and community services

The service operates Monday through Friday, arriving in Fayetteville at 9:00 a.m. and departing Fayetteville at 2:00 p.m.

Reservation Information

Reservations are required for both services and should be made at least two business days in advance. To schedule a ride, call Sampson County Public Transportation at 910-299-0127.

 

These new transportation options are designed to improve mobility, increase access to education and employment, and connect residents with critical services throughout the region. They are funded through grants and will be active for as long as funds are available or until 6/30/2027. And provided on a first-come, first serve basis.
